An exhibition of works by the great
Alphonse Mucha will run at the Seoul Arts Center's Hangaram Art Museum from
Dec. 3rd, 2016 till March 5th, 2017. Alphonse Mucha is most famous for his
intricately drawn advertisements and posters featuring graceful women
surrounded by flowers, but he was also one of the fathers of modern graphic
design.
Mucha's artwork and style became
representative of Art Nouveau in Europe and the United States. Art Nouveau was
an artistic style and movement that took place during the late 19th century and
early 20th century. His influence continues to be felt today as new generations
of artists continue to be inspired by Mucha's work. Mucha's influence can be
seen in diverse fields of art; from comic artists to commercial designers, and
more.
This exhibition will showcase
Mucha's artworks and the breadth of his influence in graphic design. Alongside
works by Mucha, there will also be displays from modern Korean and Japanese
graphic artists that were influenced by Mucha. Visitors will also be able to meet
photo card booth. The
photo card booth named PIX N POP S was set up at the exhibition center and
visitors can keep their memories in the photo cards. The modern and inventive
works of Alphonse Mucha are well applied the back grounds and frames of
PIX N POP S. Because the size of the printed card is same as a credit card,
it¡¯s easy to keep a photo in a purse. Also, a picture can be beautifully
printed out. Visitors will be able to enjoy Mucha¡¯s works as well as keep their
pleasant and happy memories with PIX N POP S.
